What is Art for? - Ep. 164
One answer to the question ‘what is art for?’, could be Alain de Botton’s idea that art balances us. “All of us are a little unbalanced in someway… too intellectual, too emotional, too masculine, too feminine, too calm or too excitable. The art we love is frequently something we are drawn to because it compensates us for what we lack. It counterbalances us.”
In this episode 164 we look at the question: what is art for? We’ll also hear a clip by The Guardian Culture on this very question, narrated by British philosopher Alain de Botton. It’s ‘What is Art for?’, now on ArtHouse Radio!
